The Fairmont Royal York – Toronto, Ontario
Straight across the road from Union Station, especially if you have an early train journey this is one hotel which is well situated. Thought from the time I entered the front door and it instantly exuded a royal feel. The foyer was a delight with fresh flowers and the historical feature of the large clock works well to give you a sense of a bygone era. For that reason alone I felt relaxed upon arrival.
The rooms were fine by me, spacious with a coffee machine which is always welcomed. The only concern I had was upon arrival the case had to be pulled onto a lift and taken up to the ground floor. Not that this is really a problem but it’s amazing how many hotels don’t have a walkway which allows you to push a wheelchair or roll your luggage on a flat upward-sloping
